The Marie Trust

Six Week Oral History Study Programme

Many thanks to Frances McKinlay at the Marie Trust in Glasgow for inviting me to deliver a six week oral history programme to service users and staff.  We are now 4 weeks into the course and I have been impressed by the commitment, determination and creativity shown by my 'students'.  They have already completed oral history and audio editing training, and conducted a formal interview, and they are now working on the summaries and transcripts - this is wonderful progress for a group who didn't know what oral history is just a month ago!

I knew that the Marie Trust provides a range of services to help people affected by homelessness and social exclusion. but it was great to learn that they also provide lots of skills development activities and programmes to support service users to achieve their full potential.

I'm delighted to play a small part in delivering those additional skills development activities and I look forward to spending the next couple of weeks working with this fantastic service.
