We recently spent a wonderful weekend working with archaeologists at the Pennylands POW Camp 22 on Ayrshire's beautiful Dumfries House estate. Many thanks to Liz Jones and Scott Coulter, Addyman Archaeology, Bobby Grierson and the Cumnock History Group, and all the amazing volunteers who came along to dig, survey, photograph and record the remains of a wash house, toilet block, and several accommodation and storage huts.
Thanks also to the many visitors who came along to share their memories and stories of the camp whilst living there during the 1940s and early 1950s. We will contact you soon to arrange your oral history interviews!
You will find our digital photo album on YouTube at: https://lnkd.in/gdD9Hta
